I just upgraded my Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver to 11.6.0.1030 Using the recommended intallation method for an existing system. I have an ASUS p8Z77-v Premium motherboard and a RAID 1 configuration. The system was working fine before, with RAID and IRST turned on in the BIOS.
Now my Windows 7 x64 system will not start up. It starts to boot, but the Windows Logo just appears and hangs. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hi,
I am in need to capture packets that contain VLAN tags on my Intel Pro/1000 CT NIC Card.
When I try to capture packets using the command: tcpdump -ni eth2 vlan
I do NOT capture any packets.
I then issue the command: ifconfig eth2 mtu 1522
I then try to capture packets using the command: tcpdump -ni eth2 vlan
I CAN now capture packets
I then save my settings in my cfg file: /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth2
# Please read /usr/share/doc/initscripts-*/sysconfig.txt
# for the documentation of these parameters.
DEVICE=eth2
BOOTPROTO=none
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
TYPE=Ethernet
IPADDR=10.2.1.1
HWADDR=00:1b:21:a0:17:27
MTU=1522
I then reboot the computer.
After the reboot I issue the command: tcpdump -ni eth2 vlan
Now NO packets are captured.
I check the interface settings using: ifconfig eth2
The MTU setting is still there:
ifconfig eth2
eth2 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:1B:21:A0:17:27
inet addr:10.2.1.1 Bcast:10.2.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
inet6 addr: fe80::21b:21ff:fea0:1727/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1522 Metric:1
RX packets:2 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:26 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:120 (120.0 b) TX bytes:4181 (4.0 KiB)
Interrupt:17 Memory:f0680000-f06a0000
I then issue the command: ifconfig eth2 mtu 1524 and ifconfig eth2 mtu 1522
(Toggling the MTU setting)
I then try to capture packets using the command: tcpdump -ni eth2 vlan
I CAN now capture packets
Any idea how to make the ability to capture packets permanent between reboots?
Thanks in advance for any wisdom and guidance!!
-John

Today I wanted to disable my subscription to Intel AT Service and I suspended it on web site. After that I was prompted to click “Synchronize Settings with Server…” in desktop app, but it returned “Synchronization Failure” message and didn’t unrolled my notebook.
What I need to do to disable that service on website and notebook?
Hello all,
I am trying to update my bios on my DX58SO motherboard with the file SOX5810J.86A.5599.EB.EXE downloaded from the support forums on Intels own website.
However, my Comodo Defense+ software flags it as extremely malicious and urges me to block the application from runnig - see included image.
Does anyone have any advice to give on this? Should I run the program anyway?
Thank you in advance.
Hello,
When downloading the Intel Microcode .dat file for Linux, we are presented with license terms that significantly differ from what is present in the .dat itself. What are the real license terms on this file ?

I just bricked my DZ77GA-70K after the setting some option in my brand new 0057 BIOS...
s
I'm usually booting using UEFI to Windows 8 system with success, previously with the 0053 BIOS.
After upgrade to the 0057 BIOS I noticed the Legacy Boot checked along with the UEFI boot checked. I decided to disable legacy boot and remove the USB and optical boot to reduce my boot time. I didn't touch to the new secure boot feature.
On reboot, no video output and two beeps :'(
I tried all the recovery methods: Back2BIOS button, configuration mode jumper (2-3), recovery mode jumper (no jumper at all), and removing the battery to clear CMOS all the night without AC cable. All attempts were unsuccessful.
My attached devices :
USB stick FAT 32 formatted (my usual BIOS upgrade stick) with only the brand new 0058 .BIO file on it, on the first yellow USB port, no other USB device attached (no mouse, no keyboard)
One DDR3-RAM stick (i switch between 4 ones to be sure one is not causing problems)
My steps with BIOS recovery mode (jumper removed) :
1. power on
2. status 31 : my usb stick is flashing
3. one beep
4. status 92 : two beeps, twice
5. status EA -> 77 -> 40 -> 42 -> 44 -> 48 -> 4A -> 4B -> FE (???), seems the last status (I waited 5 minutes)
6. reset button
7. status 15 -> 14 : three beeps, looping
8. reset button
9. status 15 -> 14 : three beeps, looping
And of course absolutely no video output...
I tried Intel Support by chat and the guy suggested me returning the MB to the reseller under warranty.
You really think that could happen only with setting a bad option in the BIOS ?
But... aren't all these recovery methods supposed to repair that ?
What there purpose if they all failed at restoring this setting ?
I switched from ASUS motherboards to Intel because I wanted serious work on hardware and BIOS level, and I'm really disappointed...
If you can help me, guys, I'll be very glad.

Hi All,
I just received my DZ77RE-75K and am trying to get it working. I have the following configuration in it now:
I installed the the board per instructions, including connecting the the 2x4 and 2x12 power cables. When I boot, I get no POST codes on the port 80 nor do I get any beeps. The fan spins up, but I get no display. The only activity are the VCCP1 through VCCP3 LEDs are blinking at a regular interval, but I get nothing else. I have reseated them memory, swapped the memory, and tried w/o the memory in with the same result. I have also pulled everything except the memory, CPU and power off the board with the same result. I've also reseated the CPU.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Ben
HD4000 is very slow when rotated 90/270. OS is Windows XP. Using latest driver (5421, 7/27/2012).
Disabling acceleration (control panel -> display -> settings -> advanced -> troubleshoot) fixes the performance problem, but then DirectX apps don't run and the Intel control panel doesn't run.
Here's another funny thing. Performance greatly improves if a 2nd monitor is connected.
Again, this is only when rotated. When not rotated, performance is better (or at least not worse) with acceleration enabled, and adding 2nd monitor makes no difference.
As it is possible boot OS on DQ77KB from ISCSI target? I not found any settings in BIOS and BootUtil not support update of NIC ROM. There is a way to enable iSCSI boot support on this motherboard? Or may be Intel can plans to add support of iSCSI boot in BIOS?
I'm running Win 8 (64) on my new HP EliteBook 8470p.
After connecting my secondary monitor (old Acer, 1280x1024) I noticed that whenever the mouse cursor is changing, for example while moving the pointer over a form field or text in firefox or moving it over the "border" of an application window, it's "jumping" a bit. This is quite irritating and also slowing down my workflow.
I reinstalled Windows, updated the HD4000 driver to the latest version (before that I tried the one from the HP support site, their driver is a bit older), without being able to solve the issue. The only thing that seems to work is to only use one screen. Otherwise my system is working fine.
I've searched the forum and found this message, that seems to describe a similar dual problem:

Thank you very much for your help!
Kind regards from Vienna (Austria),
Patrick
Environment:
MFSYS25V2
Firmware: 11.6
Compute Module: MFS5520VIR
Boot Drive: Storage pool consisting of 2 Intel 320 Series 80GB SSDs (part #SSDSA2CW08) . Two virtual drives configured as RAID 1 arrays
OS: VMWare ESX 5.1
There are two compute modules that each have their boot drives configured on this storage pool. There are other compute modules in this chassis that use non-SSDs for their storage pools & virtual drives.
The two compute modules using the SSD virtual drives consistently have issues booting. The watchdog timer always performs a hard reset at least once on these compute modules during reboots, often two and three times. The two events that appear in the event log are:
3522 - BIOS FRB2 Watchdog timer expired - The server was hard reset
3520 - Watchdog timer expired - The server was hard reset
The compute modules that boot to drives in the non-SSD storage pools never have this issue. Has anyone else experienced this?
